Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2025 – Our Matching Campaign!

This Giving Tuesday, we are excited to announce that all donations will be matched one-for-one up to a total of $100,000. A small group of generous donors has offered this wonderful match, and we need your help to reach our goal.

The Dancing Cat's income, like that of many small organizations, has been greatly impacted by these challenging times. We trust you value the work we do to rescue adult cats and find them wonderful homes. The Dancing Cat cannot continue to be successful without your continued generous support. 

We appeal to you to help us with our veterinary and operating costs. So far in 2025, we have spent over $215,000 on veterinary costs, on top of $6000 for cat supplies and $49,000 for cat food.

Prior to the car crash that caused extensive damage to our building in September, approximately 25% of our revenue came from guest admission fees to our adoption lounge and from hosting special events. Without this income, we’ll need to balance our budget with individual donations and corporate matches.

We are so fortunate to have the support of your generosity and an outpouring of love that has sustained our weary hearts through this challenge. Without you, we could not have saved the hundreds of cats and kittens that we rescued this year, prior to and after the accident. We also know the cost of living crisis is affecting our neighbors, friends and the millions of pets in the U.S. shelter system.

Times may feel tough, but when you give any amount, you are giving so much more than money. Your act of kindness is not just matched dollar-for-dollar, it multiplies into immeasurable good deeds. You give hope to a cat so terrified in a shelter cage they won’t eat. You give courage to a cat who has been abused but still wants to trust. You give love to every guest who will visit our adoption lounge when we re-open, and believe us when we say we are absolutely re-opening! We have celebrated over 1,800 adoptions in the ten years since we opened our doors, and we know that number will continue to rise with your support.

The Dancing Cat also needs supplies of cat food and cat toys.  Some supplies we keep on-site for our foster families to pick up, and others are shared with community members in need.  For specific items we can use, please click our wish list buttons below. To drop off donations of cat food, please schedule an appointment on our calendar to be sure a staff member will be onsite.
