Adoption Process

We can’t wait to help you find your purr-fect match! Please read more about the process:

  1. Submit an adoption application. Submission of this application does not automatically grant an interview or an adoption, but we do respond to all applications.

  2. Our adoption counselors will review your application to determine the best fit possible for you and the cat(s) that you are interested in.

  3. If there seems to be a potential match, our adoption counselors will contact you to schedule an initial interview. This initial interview will give us an opportunity to learn about you and will give you an opportunity to learn about our cats! This interview may include a quick home visit (via Zoom or other video conferencing software).

  4. After the initial interview, you may be able to meet the cat(s) at the lounge or in their foster home. Cats in foster homes may be met via Zoom or in-person. You are not obligated to adopt the cat(s) you originally applied for; keep an open mind throughout the process.

  5. If you are then approved for adoption, you will receive an email with information about how to sign the adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee.

  6. Our team will reach out to schedule a day/time for the cat(s) to be delivered to your home. In some cases, the cats can be picked up rather than delivered. Our team will also schedule a pre-delivery chat wherein they can help you set up your home for your new family member and answer any questions you have. You will need to purchase all supplies such as a litter box, litter, and food for you new family members.

  7. A member of the team or a transport volunteer will deliver the cat to you, or arrange for cat/kitten pickup. You’ll also be able to set up a post-delivery chat to make sure that all is going well.

Note: Due to the nature of our adoption process, we do not do same day adoptions.

CAT MEDICAL HISTORY AND HEALTH

All of our rescued cats have an initial health check when they are at the shelter. Our goal is to understand the health of each of our cats and provide that information to any potential adopter. However, we cannot guarantee the health of the cat. Therefore we recommend that you take your newly adopted cat to a licensed veterinarian as soon as possible after your adoption. Any known health issues will be disclosed during the interview process and/or at the time you meet the cat.

All of our cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
